Mark Callahan:
Strong support of our military and of Israel
I am a strong supporter of continuing a positive and strong relationship with Israel. I believe in what President Ronald Reagan once stated: "Peace Through Strength".
As stated below, I strongly support our military, and those serving both domestically and internationally, both past and present.

Jeff Merkley:
In a dangerous world, we need to work with other nations
Jeff is committed to protecting America from those who would do us harm, and to making sure we do so in a way that is consistent with American values and our Constitutional rights. Indeed, Jeff firmly believes that the measure of our strength isn't just
the power of our military, but that the United States is safer and stronger when we honor our fundamental American values like respect for the rule of law and invest in the hard work of working with our allies.
In a dangerous world, with global threats ranging from terrorism to global warming to nuclear weapons proliferation,
Jeff understands that we need to be able to work with other nations to confront these challenges together.

Mark Callahan:
UN Small Arms Treaty yields our sovereignty
On Saturday, one of Merkley's Republican opponents, Mark Callahan, traveled to Merkley's Madras meeting to challenge him to debate, KTVZ reported. Merkley told him he should be debating his GOP rivals and to come back to him if he wins the primary.
The two also tangled over the issue of a United Nations treaty on small arms.
Callahan says, "This video is of me formally challenging Senator Jeff Merkley to a candidate debate, and holding him accountable for selling out our nation's 2nd Amendment rights and sovereignty to the
United Nations, via his vote on the UN Small Arms Treaty, Senate Amendment 139, he voted for on 3/23/13."

Winona LaDuke:
Opposes military aid to Colombia
“A lot of military aid is going to a country [Colombia] who has no enemies; one-third of our money is going to weapons to fight a foe we can’t see.”
LaDuke said that until the US provided weapons to Colombia, there was no conflict. “We provided the guns and the civil unrest”, she said. “Do not tell me there is no personal interest in Colombia.”
