Jim Pederson on Homeland Security
Jim Pederson issued the following statement on the controversy: "I support giving the government the resources it needs to track down terrorists, as long as the proper oversight is in place. Congress needs to hold hearings on this matter to get to the bottom of what's really happening. I join Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., in calling for an investigation. Sen. Jon Kyl needs to be leading that charge instead of mindlessly repeating the administration's talking points. That's what it means to be a senator. When the public interest is at stake, I'm willing to be independent of partisanship. He isn't."
Right now, we have gaping holes in our homeland security - from our chemical plants and railroads, to our broken borders. Jim Pederson will fight to ensure that our police, firefighters, emergency medical professionals, and border patrol agents have the equipment and support they need to do their job.
